Do You Want to Understand the Why of the Internet?

For business people, government policy makers, educators, or anyone who has struggled to understand how to use this powerful new communications tool.

Learn:

  • Why simple text messages, not multimedia, are the key to the 'net
  • How to run an organisation, or a country, on-line
  • Where the technology came from
  • Technologists don't know where the 'net is going
  • How to log-on from a flagship or a hot air balloon
  • How to relax and live on-line

Tom Worthington will take you on a net journey through four years as one of Australia's most acclaimed Internet exponents.

Tom Worthington is a Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Australian National University. An electronic business consultant, author and information technology professional, his work since 1994 has been on the policy and practice of implementing the Internet, including appearances before three Senate hearings. Tom established the first web home pages for the Defence Department, ACT Government, the Special Broadcasting Service, Australian Information Industry Association and the National Press Club. He is a past President of the Australian Computer Society, voting member of the Association for Computing Machinery and a director of the Internet Society of Australia.
