Robert Hart will be in Canberra to speak at the third Australian Open Source Symposium (AOSS 3) on Saturday, 16 June 2001:

Open source software has gained real mindshare in the enterprise space and is thus seen as a threat to corporations that derive much revenue in this space. This paper examines how open source is currently responding to the attacks from the proprietary space and conjectures on the possible directions these may take in the future and how these can be handled.

Join Robert and members of the open source community to discuss the issues of open source and closed minds.

IRCs are free (but you have to buy your own drinks and one for the special guest) and open to anyone interested: just turn up. Internet Reality Check (not to be confused with Internet Relay Chat) is designed so that members of the 'net community can meet and exchange the small amount of very important information which is not suitable for digital transmission. ;-)
